InnoMind LAB – CMU LeX Camp 2024: Learning – Understanding – Creating Innovation for the Community (Learning Express Camp 2024)

Learning Express Camp (LeX Camp) is a 12-day Sustainable Innovation learning camp in collaboration with Chiang Mai University and Singapore Polytechnic (SP).

The camp brought together over 60 youth from two countries to work together to understand the problems of three communities in Chiang Mai and Lamphun provinces through the Design Thinking process and create solutions that can be developed sustainably.

What participants will receive from this activity:

1. Learn and practice using Design Thinking to create sustainable innovations.

2. Practice teamwork skills.

3. Get to practice English while working with SP students.

4. Made new friends from CMU and SP.

5. Gain experience in helping others solve problems and learn the role of a change maker.

6. Received a certificate from SP x CMU.

💡 From learning to doing

Throughout the camp, students from both institutions learned every step of the process. Design Thinking since

Each day, participants learn from real-world situations, experience community life up close, and develop new ideas to solve problems they encounter — from environmental to economic to local livelihoods.

🤝 Cross-border cooperation

One of the camp's key themes is the "mutual learning" between Chiang Mai University students and their friends from Singapore Polytechnic. Despite their diverse languages and cultures, everyone shares their passion and creativity as a common language. Group activities and workshops foster new friendships filled with laughter, understanding, and shared inspiration.

🌱 Results beyond the project

What participants gain from CMU LeX Camp 2025 is not only knowledge of design thinking but also includes:

And at the end of the camp, everyone also received a Certificate of Participation from both SP x CMU as a mark of success in this learning experience.
