InnoMind Lab
A Learning and Innovation Space for Sustainable Transformation
InnoMind Lab is a project developed to create a framework for cultivating an innovative changemaking mindset among Chiang Mai University students through experiential learning. The program engages students in collaborative work with local communities to co-design innovations that address real needs and generate positive, sustainable impact.
Chiang Mai University’s faculty members and staff serve as Learning Facilitators, guiding students through the learning process, and as Community Facilitators, supporting effective collaboration and community engagement.
🌱 The Origin of InnoMind
InnoMind was founded from Chiang Mai University’s commitment to advancing sustainable development and social responsibility.
To achieve this vision, we have developed the ExL (Experiential Learning) Platform, which enables students to step outside the classroom and engage directly with communities—integrating interdisciplinary knowledge into real-world applications.
One of the key initiatives under this platform is LeX Camp, an innovation camp that strengthens students’ skills and empowers them to create tangible, positive impact within communities. Alongside this, InnoMind also supports the professional development of faculty members who guide students throughout their learning journey—beginning with Sense & Sensibility, and continuing through Empathize, Ideate, Prototype, and ultimately Co-Create stages.

We bring together students, community networks, social entrepreneurs, faculty members, and strategic units across Chiang Mai University to co-create experiential learning processes that inspire innovation for social impact.
At InnoMind Lab, we do more than just organize camps
🏆Our Goal

Develop students to create innovations that address the needs of communities and society.

Connect classrooms with the real world through participatory community-based learning.

Communities benefit from students’ ideas and research-based insights.

Innovative Changemaking Ecosystem
A learning development and implementation framework designed to foster innovative changemaking skills among both students and staff.
It systematically connects Framework – Implementation – Impact, creating a coherent pathway for driving meaningful and sustainable learning transformation.

It begins with the design of a clear Competency Framework, which defines skill levels, assessment tools, and incorporates a multidisciplinary perspective to align with the needs of both students and staff.
The framework is translated into action through an intensive learning process, academic courses, MOOCs, and extracurricular activities — supported by faculty mentoring and the development of digital infrastructure, such as Canvas LMS and progress-tracking systems.
It also involves collaboration with local and international partner networks to strengthen implementation and expand impact.
The expected outcomes include enhanced innovative skillsets among learners, alongside faculty development, knowledge dissemination, and the creation of sustainable social impact.
Clear targets are defined — such as increased MOOC enrollment, greater utilization of learning facilities, and the generation of new research and innovations.

2. Implementation Programs

🚀 InnoMind Competency Framework
Innovative Changemaking Competency Framework for Chiang Mai University Students
Welcome to the InnoMind Framework Information Hub, where we introduce a learning design approach aimed at cultivating an Innovative Changemaking Mindset in students — preparing them to thrive in a rapidly changing and challenging future.
This website provides a systematic overview of the framework to help faculty members understand, apply, and integrate it effectively into their teaching practices.
🎯Expected Learning Outcomes - CLOs
The team has refined the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
based on feedback from multiple stakeholder groups to ensure that graduates of
this framework are well-prepared for the world in the next 5–10 years.
The four key outcomes are as follows:
